President Lu Fucai Attending Our Supervisor Seminar for “UP Program”

On the morning of May 6, the International College held the 4th supervisor seminar for “UP Program” in 2018, and President of JUFE Lu Fucai attended and guided the seminar. Dean of the International College Yang Hui, Secretary of Party Committee Tu Yan, Deputy Secretary of Party Committee Xia Xianfeng and UP supervisors of Grade 2015 and Grade 2016 of the International College jointly attended the seminar.
The “UP Program” of the International College is a platform for college students’ quality improvement and innovative practice education built by the International College by virtue of social forces. By means of hiring successful professionals in workplace to be supervisors, boost the college students’ growth by supervisors’ personal example and verbal instruction. In order to highlight the cultivation of UP program for college students’ “Innovative Thinking” and “Innovation Ability”, the UP supervisor seminar was themed by “inheritance and innovation”. The seminar started with such two films as Inheritance on the Fingertip—Clay Figure Zhang and Road of Innovation, and debated on that “innovate must be based on tradition”. Supervisors cited various authorities, demonstrated different opinions, and discussed on the themes of such four phases as “flag setting, challenging, ring and victory”, having showed supervisor teams’ excellent critical thinking skills and teamwork spirit. Supervisors said that such form of novel teaching seminar had further deepened the understanding of the concept of “innovation” and strengthened the high recognition of UP program.
President Lu Fucai made thorough analysis from two aspects of “establishment and overriding”, “offense and defense”, and made a comment on the event. He emphasized that there was no absolute conflict between innovation and tradition, we need not only innovation based on “good tradition”, but also abandoning and breaking “bad tradition”.
At the end of the event, President Lu expressed thanks to all the “UP supervisors” on behalf of JUFE, and put forward the ardent anticipation of “cultivating talents with morality”, “perfecting personality”, “developing skills” and “consolidating major”. He pointed out that all the “UP supervisors” should be dedicated to be an example for the students in terms of ideology and morality, and devoted to building integrated personality, offer students guidance for bearing themselves and skill growth, and enrich students’ professional knowledge via the combination of professional teaching and practical teaching, and make the students critical forces for giving back to society.
Manual for Supervisors of JUFE International “UP Program” was issued n the event, and flag-giving ceremony was conducted for the rotating activities for innovative education research seminar for supervisors of “UP program”
According to information, the “UP program” of the International College has successfully completed 60 session of practical teaching instruction since the launching in October 2016 in the form of group guidance, enterprise visit, course lecturing, current politics debating, and etc., involving 3670 people, obtaining enthusiastic response from the students. While students-facing instruction, the College set up and operated “UP program innovative education seminar”, broke the ice of obstructed information communication among supervisors and unbalanced cultivation of students. It has strengthened the communication among supervisors and between supervisors and students, converting “single power” as “group wisdom”, jointly facilitating the cultivation of diversified international talents.
