Overview
Financial Management Information System examines how organizations design and manage information systems and how they use information as an important corporate resource. This examination occurs in the context of electronic business trends where organizations are using new e-technologies to achieve and sustain corporate health and growth. The course also covers concepts of how data is used to support basic business processes and how data is linked to provide information for effective decision by managers and professionals.
Included is practical work to familiarize students with decision-making software. Students are expected to be familiar enough with the tools to use them in other courses of the program as they progress through their degree.
This course is designed to develop an understanding of the importance of information and information technology in business enterprise and to develop the ability to apply basic information systems concepts to a broad spectrum of business disciplines.

Students successfully completing Management Information Systems should be able to:
